towards home,

Writer's picture: ToldiToldi

After a great time in Etosha Park, the journey continues towards the Atlantic coast. Of course, with lots of twists and turns and stretches through the middle of nowhere. You also notice that there is no internet anymore and if there is, it is so slow that you can no longer upload a picture.

Toldi is always navigating and leads us through the country in scorching heat, 38 degrees every day. He takes us to a cheetah farm, where we can spend the night and go on a cheetah tour.

First, we are allowed to pet the tame house cat.

Then we drive out into the bush. 200 hectares are fenced off for the cheetahs. They still come because they know that on a certain day and at a certain time there will always be extra food.

They don't look very friendly and we retreat to the corner in the open pickup truck.

In the evening we have the campsite all to ourselves, make a fire, eat and have a quiet night, although we close Mr Leo's door tonight. You never know 😀. But it stayed quiet.

The farms here are huge. The cheetah farm covers 7,000 hectares. You have to keep all the gates locked properly, otherwise there will be trouble.

Today Mr Leo leads us via Vingerklipp rocks to a small open-air museum. Here you can see and experience how the San and Himba people used to live and still live.

In total there were only the two of us there and two other Germans who arrived at about the same time.

We were shown how medicine was used, the forge, games, and the women's shelter.

Everyone tried very hard and in the end.

The whole village danced for us four.

A beautiful experience.

Today we drive back to the Atlantic, a long stretch over very bad gravel roads.
