No network for 2 days, no nothing. No LTE, no internet, no telephone.
Most recently in the Roadhouse, a brilliant campsite close to nothing, with good food, but internet like in Todtmoos Au before fiber optic came along. Is...

Set up like a car repair shop, with a Mercedes 190 Ponton ambulance in the background. Lots of other vintage cars. On the walls are billboards for things that used to be good and expensive in our area. For example, Gedore tools.

On the way we met a colleague and spent the night here.
At the Camping Roadhouse. On the way from the meal to Mr Leo we only encountered a small Oryx. But it was peaceful.

On a starry night under the African sky

always nice to look at. The next day we went to the middle of nowhere
called Fish River Canyon
on dusty track kilometer after kilometer
Then he has reached the second largest canyon in the world, a natural wonder that can only be grasped if
you see it for yourself.

The bravest climb down the 600 meters into the canyon. Toldi says that's not for us, we have to climb back up again. We take that to heart and head for Ai Ais, where there are hot sulphur springs.

the thermometer rises to an incredible 45 degrees!!! No need for hot springs. We spend the night here at the campsite and experience a really hot night 😀🙃😀
And now comes the highlight. In the evening, the lawn was watered as much as possible and... the next morning...
no water left for showering.
This is a brilliantly put together idea.
What do the Dutch people next door say about the staff here? I won't pass that on.

Toldi, we won't say anything - we get on well with the people here, because the tap next to Mr Leo is the only one that gives out water, why is that? Those are good African thoughts, says Toldi, but we won't betray anyone....... .

Today on February 6, 2024 we reach the Orange River and leave Namibia for South Africa.
The border crossing was a bit chaotic but ultimately no problem.

We are reporting again from South Africa.
